Kanye West, Michael Jackson And Other Oscar-Worthy Music Videos (VIDEO)

The 2011 Academy Awards are upon us and even though the ceremony gives out trophies to actors, actresses and all things movie related, what about the forgotten visual medium called the music video?
Music videos have gotten progressively more ambitious, longer and some of them even have budgets that could rival a feature film! GlobalGrind decided to put together a list of some of the most Oscar-worthy music videos throughout the years.
First up is Kanye West's "Runaway." This music video pretty much was already a short film and 'Ye deserves props for his bravado and for testing the limits of what music video really means.
Dr. Dre and Eminem: "I Need A Doctor." Dr. Dre's comeback clip is an epic tale throughout the veteran MC's years in the industry. Plus he crashes a Lambo!
Michael Jackson "Remember The Time": We know, we know, but "Thriller" is a given. We also like "Time" with its Egyptian theme and multiple celebrity cameos...hello Eddie Griffin!
Justin Timberlake: "What Goes Around": This revenge anthem stars the gorgeous Scarlett Johannsson and is eight minutes long. Does Justin get back at her in the end? Watch to find out:
Eminem: "Stan" The Dido-sampling track has a fitting emotional and dark clip showing the mental unraveling of a crazed fan.
Prince: "Purple Rain". This even had a feature length film to go along with it and you know Prince deserves an Oscar!

Jay-Z: "99 Problems": This cool clip was directed by Mark Romanek and won multiple awards. It's entirely in black and white and shows Jay in his hometown of Brooklyn.
